Topic: The Alliance Française de Denver is privileged to have Mr. Jonathan Vaughters present an entertaining lecture about his experience as a cyclist in the Tour de France. Jonathan Vaughters has had an amazing career on wheels. He just announced his retirement from professional cycling last November 2003 to become a cycling coach. He was the winner of stage five in the Tour de France 2001.
The presentation will be followed by the screening of "L'Equipier", a documentary film made by the French Film Office in New York. The film is in French with English subtitles. It is 52 minutes long, by Danial Rouyre. This film captures the day-to-day experiences of Sébastien Hinault, a professional cyclist. It is a moving account of athletic courage in the modern world in an ever-controversial sport.
