October 7, 2002 (Winnipeg, MB)–Travellers can enjoy a bit of European ambiance this fall without leaving North America. Quebec's Eastern Townships are the perfect backdrop for active autumnal adventures with a European flavour, and Randonnée offers several. Cycling tours begin in the small village of Bromont, about 80 km east of Montreal, and are five days and eight days in length. Travellers to the area will be able to experience old French culture as they cycle through the rolling foothills and past vineyards or take a day tour to the Abbey Saint-Benoît-du-Lac on the shores of Lake Memphremagog. The Eastern Township walking tours let guests travel back in time and take in the old-world flavour while uncovering the delights of charming villages and countryside. This is a journey into the heart of French-Canadian culture and history tucked away in hidden towns and valleys.
